While the announcement was made on November 18th, 2022, the airline intends to plan flights to the Maldives during the winter of 2023. The flights from London Heathrow to the Maldives will go on sale on November 30, 2022, allowing travellers plenty of time to plan their 2023 trip to the Maldives to spend Christmas and New Year's on the gorgeous sandy beaches of the tropical islands.
Winter is one of the most popular seasons in the Maldives, with several international airlines offering direct flights to the Maldives, making it one of the most heavily booked holidays in the Maldives. With the addition of Virgin Atlantic to next year's fleet of international flights to the Maldives, the country is certain to attract a large number of visitors to celebrate the end of 2023 and greet the new year.
