Terminal 1 at Velana International Airport (VIA) celebrated another milestone with the commencement of FitsAir’s inaugural operations. The occasion began with a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony for the airline’s first departure flight, where passengers experienced a seamless check-in process at the brand-new terminal.
On arrival, the first FitsAir flight was greeted with a traditional water salute. Passengers disembarking from the landmark flight were warmly welcomed by the CEO and Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL), Mr. Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed; the CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives Corporation, Mr. Shiuree Ibrahim; and Director of Fits Holidays, Ms. Anah Kassim.
To mark this historic transition, MACL presented FitsAir with a commemorative plaque. During the ceremony, Ms. Anah Kassim delivered inspiring remarks, highlighting the importance of this new chapter for the airline and its operations in the Maldives.
