Maldives is ending 2025 with a bang as the Maldives Airports Limited Company (MACL) reports yet another successful day of tourist arrivals in the country. The Maldives, which has already reached the 2 million arrival goal it had set for the year 2025 continues to receive more guests right before the end of the year as the tourist peak seasons come into full effect.
Every year, the Maldives experiences more arrivals during the Christmas and New Year’s festivities, and these numbers continue into the first two months of the year as Orthodox Christmas and Valentine’s Day are also a big hit for guests looking to celebrate in the Maldives. MACL has reported three different majorly successful days, with the highest number of arrivals marked on February 10th with 11,207 arrivals, and February 11th marked second with 10,775 arrivals. 30th December was recorded as the third-highest arrival day for the Maldives, according to statistics from MACL, as the arrivals were marked recorded at 10,297.
In addition to this, MACL also noted that throughout 2024 there were eight separate days where the airport recorded over 10,000 arrivals. In addition to the increased number of arrivals this year, Velana International Airport (VIA) also recorded over 150 private jets arriving in the Maldives. According to MACL, this is an 8 percent increase in private jet landings in the Maldives compared to 2023, showcasing an upward trajectory for tourist arrivals in the Maldives.
