Over the years, Maldives has made a name for itself through its luxurious tourism industry. With the beautiful beaches, branded hotels and mesmerising sunsets, it is extremely hard to top the breathtaking views and relaxing vibes of the Maldives.

And while several airlines have started flying to the Maldives, even going as far as to conduct direct flights to connect travellers to the Maldives, there are some who might want to visit the Maldives in style – in a luxury branded airline.

However, this was not an option even with the hefty price people are willing to pay to spend just a few nights under the stars on a beautiful beach in the Maldives. Although, things might be taking a turn for the better, especially for those who are looking to have a fully paid luxury trip from the moment they step foot in the airport to the moment that they land at the resort in the Maldives with the exciting announcement of a new premium, leisure airline concept named ‘BeOnd.

This concept put together by a Maldivian company, SIMDI in partnership with a UAE-based investment company ARABESQUE is set to be operational in 2023. According to BeOnd, the airline will fly up to 60 destinations, connecting countries Dubai, Hongkong, Milan, Munich and many others directly to the Maldives.

Using Airbus A321neos with 68 fully flat business class seats, checking in to your flight at the safety of your own home, premium airport pick-up, a specific lounge as well as the availability of great in-flight cuisine BeOnd airline aims to provide their customers luxury from the start of their trip all the way to the end.

“We are proud to launch the world’s first luxury leisure airline here in the Maldives. We are working closely with the authorities to launch the airline the soonest and to many new destinations. The management of the airlines would like to convey the deepest gratitude and thanks to the government of Maldives and the relevant authorities for the support we have received so far.”
Tero Tasika, CEO of BeOnd.

This airline will not only provide the opportunity for travellers to take luxury trips, but it will also provide great economic benefits to the Maldives in terms of job opportunities. The creation of the lounge, and pick-up services, as well as the airport services, will create several jobs in the Maldives.

“We are very excited that BEOND, as a new airline, chose to be based in the Maldives. As a Maldives based carrier, the airline will provide more direct flights to and from Maldives, making travel to the Maldives even easier and more accessible.”
Fayyaz Ibrahim, Minister of Economic Development of the Maldives.
