Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has announced the commencement of direct flights between Addu and Kooddoo, marking a significant milestone in the country's air travel infrastructure. The airline revealed that these flights are set to begin operations on October 29 of this year, providing convenient travel options for both locals and tourists alike.

The decision to introduce direct flights between Addu and Kooddoo comes as part of a collaborative effort between Maldivian, the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), and the Ministry of Tourism. This initiative aligns with the current administration's policy of expanding tourism to the Southern islands, aiming to unlock the untapped potential of these pristine destinations.

Starting October 29, scheduled flights will operate between Gan, Addu, and Kooddoo on a weekly basis. Passengers can expect flights from Addu to Kooddoo every Tuesday at 11:55 hrs, with return flights from Kooddoo to Addu departing every Saturday at 17:30 hrs. This fixed schedule offers travellers reliable and consistent connectivity between these two key destinations in the Southern atolls.
