Batik Air to operate flights between Maldives and Malaysia

In addition to Batik Air, Flynas, a Saudi budget airline also announced their plans to operate flights to the Maldives starting next month.

Post COVID-19 pandemic, it appears that more airlines are connecting travellers to their dream destination. And what is a better dream location to travel to than the Maldives?

Maldives has been gaining traction yet again, as borders opened up allowing visitors to finally take their long awaited trip to this tropical destination. In order to facilitate these dreams, more and more airlines have been operating direct flights to the Maldives since 2022. And now, a Malaysian airline, Batik Air has also announced that they will be operating flights to the Maldives starting next month. 

Batik Air has announced that they intent to schedule these flights every week, using a Boeing 737 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers. In addition to facilitating direct flights between the Maldives and Malaysia, Batik Air will also be conducting transit flights between the two countries via Sri Lanka, one of the most common destinations for transit for travellers coming to the Maldives.

This is definitely an exciting announcement for travellers who are seeking to travel between the two countries. Malaysia and the Middle East are two of the most popular destinations among Maldivians, and there is no doubt that the introduction of these new airlines will be well received by the country.
