BML Innovation Lab Hackathon begins

The Bank of Maldives began its Innovation Lab Hackathon at Hotel Jen with over 30 participants on 14 October 2022.
The Hackathon is held under the theme of developing ‘Banking Solutions to Enhance Customer Experience’. Individuals and teams registered for the 48-hour hackathon will develop innovative fintech ideas and solutions to enhance customer experience and operational excellence.
According to the information provided by BML, three winning teams will be selected to go into the Bank’s Innovation Lab to develop their winning ideas over a period of 6 months. The Bank and the winner will mutually agree for the cost of the solution and will provide:
· A furnished private working space to use as an office
· Monthly allowance of MVR 20,000 for each team
· Long-term maintenance contract of the developed solution
The bank will be announcing the winning teams on the 16th October 2022.
