After alarmingly high rates of daily positive cases in the previous week, the number of cases over the past seven days has started to decline, with a daily average of 700 cases. The total number of cases has now reached 65,868.

- A 10-year old Maldivian girl passed away at IGMH, the youngest victim of the disease so far.
- 704 new cases reported today from 5,181 samples tested over the last 24 hours.
- 23,909 active cases, and 191 hospitalized.
- 171 deaths to date.

COVID-19 case updates
- 768 new cases, out of 5,685 samples tested.
- A total of 8 deaths reported, bringing death toll to 169.
- 69 percent of eligible population administered first doze, 35 percent of eligible population fully vaccinated.
- 24,035 active cases; 208 patients hospitalized; 169 deaths; 40,951 patients recovered.

- 571 cases are from Greater Male’ Area, 205 from Inhabited Islands, and 04 from Resorts.

- 24,205 active cases; 218 patients hospitalized; 39,315 patients recovered.
- A total of 371 people received first dose of vaccine, and 1,309 people received their second dose.

Other highlights
- 73 Islands are under monitoring, with K. Huraa and N. Velidhu put under monitoring today.
- 70 percent of eligible population has been vaccinated with the first dose, while 37 percent with the second dose.

Government announced economic response packages
- A 20 percent discount to be applied for utility bills of April 2021.
- A 40 percent discount to be given for utility bills of May 2021.
- An additional MVR 370 million allocated for Economic Stimulus loans from June 201.
- SME Relief loans will be provided with 6 percent interest, 12 months grace, and 5 year repayment.
