In its efforts to empower local Non-profit Organisations and empower the local Maldivian community through sustainable projects, the Bank of Maldives has developed a children's park in A.Dh Fenfushi Preschool.

This project was carried out by the bank in partnership with a local NGO, Fenfushi Zuvaanunge Dhirun. The NGO and the bank worked together to bring this project to life as the A.Dh community was lacking a park for children, which meant that kids were lacking that creative space to explore, have fun and relax with their friends and families.

“We have not had a park for children on the island. Our mission was to create a space to strengthen the community spirit, and provide recreational and relaxation for children and families. We are very pleased to get this opportunity to support the community in such a way and thank BML for their ongoing work.”
President of Fenfushi Zuvaanunge Dhirun, Ahmed Abdul Muhsin

This community fund initiative is carried out by the bank every year for the past four years, so far having completed 80 different projects. Under this fund, the bank opens up opportunities for local registered NGOs to access funds up to MVR 50,000 in order to carry out and implement local projects which fall in the areas of environment, education, sports and community development.
