The Maldives is set to gain unprecedented global exposure through a new high-profile partnership with Liverpool Football Club (LFC). The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), also known as Visit Maldives, has officially teamed up with LFC, making the island nation the club’s Official Tourist Destination Partner. This strategic collaboration is expected to bring significant benefits to the Maldives’ tourism industry by attracting high-value travellers and boosting economic growth.
The partnership will be unveiled on April 2nd during Liverpool’s Premier League match against Everton, with the Maldives featured on the Anfield Stadium LED boards. Through LFC’s massive global reach, the Maldives will gain valuable exposure, helping to position it as a top holiday destination. Some of the key elements of the collaboration include:
- Brand visibility at Anfield Stadium during Premier League home matches.
- Advertisements and billboards across Europe targeting high-value travellers.
- Promotion through LFC’s official publications and digital platforms.
With 205 million global followers, 211 million TV viewers per season, and 53 million social media followers, LFC provides a powerful marketing platform. Beyond promotions, the collaboration will introduce a Liverpool Academy in the Maldives, further strengthening sports tourism. Fan zones and interactive events will be included in global travel fairs, roadshows, and promotions, enhancing the Maldives' appeal as a premium travel destination.
