The National Single Window “Tradian” has officially begun operations with Phase I being launched on 20 April 2025. According to Tradians official wesbite, the platform was created to as a trade facilitation platform designed to manage all your import and export transactions from one place.
Since its launch, Tradian has been available to all traders and logistics operators, making it possible for businesses to use the platform to managepermits, submit documents, and complete trade-related payments all from one place: tradian.gov.mv.
Tradian simplifies international trade by offering a single access point for submitting and processing key trade documents.
Instead of navigating separate systems, traders can now:
- Submit permit applications and cargo manifests online
- Track approvals and notifications in real time
- Pay fees securely through a centralised portal
By replacing fragmented, manual processes with a digital-first system, Tradian supports faster clearances, reduced costs, and compliance with international standards such as the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement (Article 10.4).
As of 20 April 2025, the following services are live on Tradian:
- Foreign-going vessel registration
- ETA/ETD submission for vessel arrivals and departures
- Sea cargo manifest submission
- Pork and liquor permit submission
- Construction material import permit submission
- Online payments for trade-related services
These services are integrated with key government systems, including those of the Maldives Customs Service, Maldives Ports Limited, and the Ministry of Tourism and Environment. Applications are processed electronically, with real-time updates and data sharing across agencies.
With Phase II launching on 21 September 2025, additional services can also be explored on the platform such as:
- Foreign going vessel registry
- Vessel Arrival/Departure Information Submission (ETA/ETD)
- Sea cargo manifest submission
- Pork and liquor import permit application
According to the announcement, these services through the “Tradian” platform will be accessible only to freight forwarders, shipping agents, importers, and exporters who are registered on the “Tradian” platform.
