President establishes Government Services Centres

The Centres were established under the powers vested in the President by Article 116(a) of the Constitution and will be administered by the Ministry of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has established Government Services Centres through a Directive (No. 16/2026) issued on 08 October 2026.

The Centres were established under the powers vested in the President by Article 116(a) of the Constitution and will be administered by the Ministry of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology.

As such, the following Government Services Centres have been established:

1. Government Services Centre – Haa Alifu Atoll

2. Government Services Centre – Haa Dhaalu Atoll

3. Government Services Centre – Shaviyani Atoll

4. Government Services Centre – Noonu Atoll

5. Government Services Centre – Raa Atoll

6. Government Services Centre – Baa Atoll

7. Government Services Centre – Lhaviyani Atoll

8. Government Services Centre – Kaafu Atoll

9. Government Services Centre – Alifu Alifu Atoll

10. Government Services Centre – Alifu Dhaalu Atoll

11. Government Services Centre – Vaavu Atoll

12. Government Services Centre – Meemu Atoll

13. Government Services Centre – Faafu Atoll

14. Government Services Centre – Dhaalu Atoll

15. Government Services Centre – Thaa Atoll

16. Government Services Centre – Laamu Atoll

17. Government Services Centre – Gaafu Alifu Atoll

18. Government Services Centre – Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll

The Centres have been established to ensure the provision of public services through integrated service centres, as stipulated in Article 65(b)(1) of the Decentralization Act (Act No. 7/2010). The directive also specifies the official names of the Centres and the letter codes to be used in official correspondence.
