On 24 September 2026, the Government of the Republic of Maldives and the Government of the Republic of Croatia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Political Consultations. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Her Excellency Iruthisham Adam, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives signed on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Maldives and His Excellency Gordan Grlić-Radman, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia signed on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Croatia. The signing took place following a meeting between the two Ministers.
The MoU aims to enhance and expand bilateral cooperation between the Maldives and Croatia through facilitation of regular political consultations on areas of mutual importance. The signing also demonstrates the shared commitment to strengthen the existing ties of friendship between the two countries.
