On 15 September 2026, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO Maldives) announced that Male' Water and Sewerage Company Private Limited (MWSC) has become the fifth state-owned company in the Maldives to fully publish its proactive disclosure information.
With a dedciated Information Officer in place, MWSC opens up the public to request information under the Right to Information Act (Law No. 1/2014); a law which grants every citizen the right to access information held by public authorities in order to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance. In their website, MWSC noted that the company is committed to complying with the Right to Information Act and to facilitating public access to information in a timely and transparent manner.
