MMA announces winners of different categories in the MMA Tamweel FinLit Fest

The MMA Tamweel FinLit Fest is an initiative dedicated to promoting financial literacy, responsible money management, and awareness of Islamic finance through a diverse lineup of competitions.

The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) announced the participants who took home prices from the MMA Tamweel FinLit Fest.

MMA Tamweel FutureFinance Essay Competition Winners:

The second runner-up was announced as Ali Athfan Amir, who was awarded second runner-up in the junior category of the MMA Tamweel FutureFinance Essay Competition for his essay. The essay was written under the topic 'Financial Integrity: Why Values Matter in a Changing World".

The first runner up was announced as Maaz Mohamed Latheef for the junior category for his essay titled under 'How Ethical Values can Shape Better Financial Decisions in the Maldives".

The winner of this category was Izkaan Ahmed Shareef, whose essay was titled "Financial discipline for a prosperous tomorrow".

When it came to the senior category, the second runner up was Mohamed Ayaan Riufath, who wrote an essay under the title 'An Economy for All", reflecting his vision of fairness and inclusion in a changing world.

The first runner up in this category was announced as Aishath Zaaya Haneef, whose essay was titled "Unwavering Compass: Financial Integrity and why it is the Bedrock of a Resilient Global Economy".

The winner of the senior category was Ismail Yael Saifulla Waseem, whose essay was titled "Why Muslim Financial Involvement is Vital in Our Age". His essay explored how sustainable and values-driven finance can support global challenges. 

MMA Tamweel Values & Vision Art Showcase. 

Another category that was awarded during the FinList Fest was the MMA Tamweel Values & Vision Art Showcase. 

In the grade 5-7 of this category, third place was awarded to Amyas Walid Ayad Albarouni, who is a fifth grader from Dh. Atoll Education Centre. His piece "Helping Hands: The Spirit of Giving" highlighted compassion, charity, and the belief that real wealth grows when we uplift others.

Second place was taken up by Ayleen Binthi Ahusan, a seventh grader from Rehendhi School. Her work under the theme "Money Talks but Values Lead" emphasised that true leadership comes from integrity and long-lasting values.

Firs place of the grade 5-7 of this category was won by Yashal Mausoom, who is a seventh grader from Jamaluddin school. Her artwork "wealth in Bloom" illustrated how communities grow stronger when money is used with unity, compassion, and purpose.

When it comes to the Grade 8-9 of the Values & Vision Art Showcase, theird place was taken up by Riana Kate Jacobs, an 8th grader from Ahmadiyya International School. Her artwork "Heal the World" illustrated how giving can support those in need, improve living coniditions, care for the environment, and help children access education.

Second place in this category was won by Aishath Zyva Zulfiqar, an 8th grader from Salaahudheen Schol. Her artwork shows how even a small act of giving can create big change, helping communities grow through kindness, education, healthcare, and unity.

First Place in this category was won by Hawwa Eava Vifau, a 9th grader from G.Dh. Atoll Education Centre. Her artwork "Currency of Connection" showcared how collective financial responsibility and shared decision can build a hopeful future, where prosperity becomes a tool for unity, growth, and peace.

Winners of other categories

Additionally, MMA also announced team 4ofUs, for emerging as the champion team of the Tamweel FinLit Challenge for demonstrating strong financial knowledge, teamwork, and confidence through the six league rounds and a competitive final. Team EconEdge was announced as the champion team of the Tamweel Econ Quest Debate Competition for their strong arguments, clear reasoning, and confident delivery in the competition. Team FinTech won Track 1 of the Tamweel Impact Pitch challenge for their project FinLearn. Their solution showcased how innovative technology can strengthen financial literacy and support smarter, values-aligned financial decision-making in the Maldives.

Last but not least, Nausham Waheed was announced as the winner of the Tamweel Short Video Challenge under the theme Smart Money Habits. His video resonated around the theme that financial confidence begins early, teaching children not just to dream, but to work, save, and earn their way towards those dreams. Every coin put aside builds smart money habits: saving, budgeting, planning ahead, and shaping a future of independence and responsibility. 

MMA Tamweel FinLit Fest is an initiative dedicated to promoting financial literacy, responsible money management, and awareness of Islamic finance through a diverse lineup of competitions. By engaging students, youth, and the wider public through creativity, debate, innovation, and education, the festival aims to build a more financially informed, inclusive, and values-driven society.
