MMA revokes the money exchange license of Express Money Exchange Private Limited

MMA has yet again urged all parties to carry out money exchange transactions in compliance with the established laws and regulations.

The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has announced that the money exchange license of Express Money Exchange Private Limited has been revoked.

MMA announced this revocation on 19 August 2026, citing that Express Money Exchange Private Limited had violated the foreign exchnage rule, leading to to the authority revoking the license. With this, MMA has yet again urged all parties to carry out money exchange transections in compliance with the established laws and regulations.

MMA further stated that in partnership with the law enforcement agencies, the authority will continue to take legal action against those who violate these regulations.
