The Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) announced that Singapore Airlines has moved its operations to Terminal 1 of Velana International Airport.
To mark the transition, a ceremonial water salute was given for the first flight, and arriving passengers were welcomed by Dhiraagu CEO & MD Ismail Rasheed, along with MACL'sCEO & MD, Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, DMD Mujthaba Latheef, Exco members, and Singapore Airlines’ General Manager, Haziq Sulaiman.
In addition, a ceremonial ribbon-cutting was also held to mark the opening of Singapore Airlines’ check-in counters at Terminal 1. Singapore Airlines is the 32nd carrier to commence operations at the terminal 1.
