Discover Airlines moves to Terminal 1 of VIA

In celebration of its operational move to Terminal 1 at Velana International Airport, Discover Airlines was welcomed with a ceremonial water salute, marking the airline’s arrival at the new terminal.

Passengers arriving on the first Discover Airlines flight operating from Terminal 1 were formally welcomed by the Managing Director of the Road Development Corporation, Ibrahim Nazeem, along with the Maldives Airports Company Ltd.’s Deputy Managing Director, Mujthaba Latheef, and members of MACL’s senior management.

The ceremonial welcome highlighted the continued transition of airline operations to Terminal 1 as part of MACL’s phased operational rollout. Such milestones are aimed at ensuring a smooth shift for airlines while enhancing passenger experience through the modern facilities and improved operational capacity of the new terminal.
