On 02 November 2025, Velana Airport announced three new airlines to shift operations to Terminal 1 at the airport.
The airport announced Sichuan Airlines as the 19th Airline to shift its operations to Terminal 1 at the airport, marking the continued effort to expand Terminal 1 operations and better serve the growing passenger traffic.
On the same day, Velana Airport also announced that US-Bangla Airlines, as the 20th airline to begin operations at Terminal 1 of Velana International Airport, joins us as we transition our operations to the new terminal.
In addition to the two airlines, Velana Airport also announced that Uzbekistan Airways had begun operations at Terminal 1 of Velana International Airport, becoming the latest international carrier to operate from the new terminal.
