President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has officially launched the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry services in Baa Atoll as part of his ongoing four-day visit to the atoll.
Baa Atoll falls under Zone 2 of the RTL network, which also includes Noonu, Raa, and Lhaviyani Atolls. With this inauguration, ferry services across all atolls in Zone 2 are now fully operational, significantly improving inter-island travel and regional connectivity for residents and visitors alike.
According to RTL, the service in Baa Atoll will begin with a trial phase, during which passengers can travel free of charge. Once the trial period concludes, regular paid services will commence, with tickets available for purchase via the RTL mobile application and official website.
The launch of RTL in Baa Atoll will make it easier for communities to access essential services, strengthen economic links between islands, and provide more reliable and affordable travel options.
With this expansion, RTL services are now operational in 10 atolls across the Maldives, marking another milestone in the government’s efforts to create a connected and accessible nationwide transport network.
