has unveiled plans to launch direct flights from Kudahuvahdoo Airport to
Bangalore, India. This marks a historic moment as it is the first time this
Airport will have direct flights connecting it to destinations outside of the
Maldives.
Not only is this a great milestone for Manta
Air, as the airline increases its connectivity, but this is also a great
opportunity for the islands and resort in the area, as India has been the
second-largest tourist source for the Maldives since the COVID-19 pandemic with
177,000 tourist arrivals this year alone.
Kudahuvadhoo Airport finds itself
conveniently located near some of the most prestigious resorts in Dhaalu Atoll
in the Maldives - namely Kandima Maldives, Niyama Private Island, St. Regis
Maldives, Riu, Baglioni Maldives, Angsana Velavaru, and Sun Siyam - this new
connectivity will make it easier for travellers to get to these destinations as
they will no longer have to make stops from Male’ to reach their destination.
This seamless connectivity will allow tourists to make the most of their time
at these exclusive destinations.
In addition to scheduling the flights
conveniently for arrivals to be in the morning and departures set for the
evening to give travellers ample time to explore the beauty of the Maldives,
Manta Air is also planning to introduce special packages for passengers who are
going to be taking this route. These
packages aim to enhance the overall travel experience, making it more enticing
for visitors to explore the beauty of Central Sri Lanka.
