Maldivian unveils special addition to its aircraft livery in celebration of 60th independence
This symbolic addition will be applied across Maldivian’s current fleet, honouring the airline’s role as the national carrier and reinforcing its deep-rooted connection to the Maldivian identity.
Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has unveiled a special addition to its aircraft livery in celebration of the nation’s 60th year of independence. The new design element proudly features the words Dhivehi Raajje (ދިވެހިރާއްޖެ) written in Dhivehi - a tribute to the country’s heritage, language, and enduring national pride.
The first aircraft to showcase this emblem was the airline’s Airbus A330, which made a historic landing at the newly inaugurated terminal of Velana International Airport on 27 July 2025, marking Maldivian as the first airline to land at the new facility.
This symbolic addition will be applied across Maldivian’s current fleet, honouring the airline’s role as the national carrier and reinforcing its deep-rooted connection to the Maldivian identity. As the Maldives marks six decades of independence, this commemorative gesture celebrates the spirit of a sovereign nation and the unity of its people.
As the national airline, we take immense pride in carrying the name ‘Dhivehi Raajje’ across our skies. Introduced during a milestone year for both the nation and our airline, this meaningful tribute is more than just a design element; it is a powerful reflection of our identity and the values we uphold every time we take flight.

The updated livery will be progressively rolled out across Maldivian’s operating aircraft, with the first aircraft already bearing the design now in service.
