Maldivian reduces FIT fares to support local tourism

It is designed to make domestic travel more affordable for Free Independent Travelers (FITs), while also stimulating tourism and driving greater economic benefits for local communities and the broader tourism sector across the Maldives.

Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has announced the reduction of FIT fares for tourists, to support of local tourism. As part of a presidential pledge, this initiative offers an average fare reduction of 15 percent from current fares. It is designed to make domestic travel more affordable for Free Independent Travelers (FITs), while also stimulating tourism and driving greater economic benefits for local communities and the broader tourism sector across the Maldives. These fares will be available for purchase starting 1st September, for travel commencing 1st November 2025.

Furthermore, Maldivian currently provides special corporate rates for local tourism establishments, including resorts & guesthouses to support local tourism.
