Maldivian Seaplane is adding a new destination to its network with the launch of a seaplane route to Thoddoo, improving air access to one of the Maldives’ popular local island destinations.

The first flight on this new route is scheduled to commence on 12 February 2026. The service has been introduced in response to growing travel demand and in line with Government efforts to enhance connectivity between the islands and support regional development. Improved air access is expected to support community connectivity while also contributing to increased visitor activity and the island’s local tourism sector.

Flights will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Saturdays. To mark the launch, Maldivian Seaplane will introduce a promotional one-way fare of MVR 799 for locals as part of its efforts to improve access to air travel across the country.

Thoddoo continues to see growth in its guesthouse sector and local island tourism offerings. The introduction of scheduled seaplane services is expected to support local livelihoods, benefit guesthouse operators and small businesses, and contribute to tourism-related economic activity on the island.

The addition of Thoddoo follows recent seaplane network expansions across the Maldives, reflecting Maldivian Seaplane’s continued focus on strengthening island connectivity and supporting balanced regional development
