On 04 November 2025, the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) welcomed Edelweiss Air, a Swiss leisure airline based in Zurich, to Terminal 1 at Velana International Airport.

Edelweiss Air becomes the 22nd airline to join us as we transition our operations to the new terminal.
