On 29 December 2025, the Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) signed two MoUs on Airport Crisis Management. The MoUs were signed with the Maldives Police and the Maldives National Air Traffic Service (MNATSaero).
In their post on MACL’s official X account, the company highlighted that the MoUs were signed to strengthen coordination, clarify roles, and enhance real-time communication for effective emergency response at the airport.
The MoU signing also aligns with MACL announcing that all airlines have officially moved to the new terminal, welcoming the first passenger of 2026 at the terminal as well. Additionally, MACL has also introduced E-gate services for Maldivian passengers at the new terminal, enhancing the efficiency for travellers.
