MACL holds Airport Security Committee meeting and a Safety Review Board

In a move to ensure airport safety and security, the Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) has held an Airport Security Committee meeting and a Safety Review Board.
MACL took to their official X account on 26 November 2025 to announce that the company's Safety Review Board met, chaired by the CEO & MD Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, to review the current safety issues and initiatives. According to the company, the meeting reinforced open communication and keeping staff and airport operations safe.
The very next day, on 27 November 2025, the airport announced that Velana International Airport's Security Committee meeting took place, also chaired by the CEO and MD Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed. In addition to the MD, the company's safety-related stakeholders also took part in this mandatory meeting.
