On 31 December 2025, MACL announced that all airlines have now been successfully transferred to the New Passenger Terminal, with the final transfer taking place on 31 December 2025. In their post, MACL noted that the company's Managing Director thanked the stakeholders, EXCO and staff for their dedication and teamwork in achieving this amazing milestone.
Additionally, on the same day, MACL also announced that the E-gate service for Maldivian passengers had been officially opened at Velana International Airport Terminal 1. With a total of 10 e-gates now operational across the arrival and departure halls, the airport has enhanced efficiency, enabling a seamless travel experience.
