Azerbaijan Airlines and Flydubai joins T1 of Velana Airport

Velana Airport concludes the month of October by welcoming two more airlines to the new terminal, expanding the services available at Terminal 1 of the airport. On 27 October 2025, the airport announced that Azerbaijan Airlines had become the 16th airline to commence operations from T1.

Marking the momentous occasion, the airport celebrated the inaugural flight with a ceremonial water salute.

Just two days later, on 29 October 2025, the airport announced that Flydubai would also be joining T1, marking the 17th airline to commence services in the terminal.
