Air France moves to terminal 1

On 20 December 2025, the Maldives Airports Company Ltd announced that Air France had commenced operations at Terminal 1 of Velana International Airport.
With this, MACL noted that Air France has officially become the 36th airline to initiate services at the terminal since its opening. The airline, founded in 1933, is renowned for providing passengers with a unique in-flight experience. The aircraft services a vast network worldwide, structured around three main activities - passenger transport, cargo, and aircraft maintenance. Over the years, Air France has become a major player in the airline industry.
The airline initially started its operations in the Maldives in 2017, offering exciting connectivity to the Maldives every winter since.
