The Maldives and Dominica sign a visa waiver agreement

With this signing, the Agreement allows for the exemption of visas of the nationals of both countries, for 30 days.

In a statement published on its official website on 09 July 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives has announced that the Government of the Republic of Maldives and the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica have signed an Agreement on Mutual Exemption of Visa Requirements for their Respective Citizens.

With this signing, the Agreement allows for the exemption of visas of the nationals of both countries, for 30 days.

The Agreement was signed on behalf of the Government of Maldives by Dr Ali Naseer Mohamed, Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations, and on behalf of the Government of Dominica by Philbert Aaron, Permanent Representative of  Dominica to the United Nations. The signing ceremony was held in New York, at the Permanent Mission of Maldives.

According to the Ministry, the signing of the Agreement will open up new opportunities for deeper engagement and increased people-to-people exchange between the Maldives and Dominica.
