Pension Office held the fourth edition of the Three Generation Walk (3GenWalk) in HDh. Hanimaadhoo on 17 October 2026, bringing together children, parents and grandparents for an evening promoting financial literacy, wellbeing and long-term financial security.
Organised in collaboration with Hanimaadhoo Council, the event aimed to encourage conversations around saving, investing and planning for retirement, while creating opportunities for families and the wider community to connect and spend meaningful time together.
At the heart of 3GenWalk was a symbolic 1 km walk, with participants from different generations walking side by side to highlight that financial preparedness is a lifelong journey and a shared responsibility across generations. Participants joined the walk wearing themed T-shirts and carrying message boards featuring financial awareness messages.
Following the walk, participants gathered for a family evening featuring interactive stalls, games, activities, entertainment and food. This provided an opportunity for people of all ages to participate in community activities while engaging with the Pension Office and other participating institutions.
The event also highlighted the importance of encouraging older persons to remain active and engaged within their families and communities, while strengthening connections between generations through the sharing of experiences.
The 3GenWalk forms part of Pension Office's continued efforts to strengthen financial literacy and public awareness across the Maldives. By combining financial education with community engagement, the initiative seeks to encourage greater understanding of financial preparedness while creating an inclusive community experience for children, adults and older persons.
Pension Office remains committed to expanding its outreach and awareness initiatives across the Maldives, promoting informed financial decision-making and encouraging individuals and families to plan for greater financial security throughout their lives.
