MWSC hosts groundbreaking ceremony for the sewerage system in K. Maafushi
The project was officially commenced by Minister of Construction, Housing & Infrastructure Dr. Abdulla Muththalib.

On 17 february 2026, the Male' Water and Sewerage Company Pvt. Ltd. (MWSC) hosted the groundbreaking ceremony for the establishment of the Sewerage System in the mainland area, along with the development of the Water and Sewerage System in the newly reclaimed area of K. Maafushi.
The project was officially commenced by Minister of Construction, Housing & Infrastructure Dr. Abdulla Muththalib, Managing Director of MWSC @amathyn, Chairperson of MWSC Shamhooza Ahmed, MP for K. Maafushi Constituency Hussain Riza, K. Maafushi council president and vice president.
The agreement for this project was officially signed on 15 February of this year, signed on behalf of the Ministry by Minister Dr. Abdulla Muthalib, while MWSC’s Managing Director, Abdul Matheen Mohamed, signed on behalf of the company.
