These projects by MWSC within the timeframe have ensured a properly engineered, fenced fuel tank at Dhuvaafaru, which reduces the need for frequent fuel shipments, lowers operational interruptions, and helps stabilise MWSC’s bottled-water production and desalination support services in that atoll.
Additionally, the new RO plans, which increased the water production capacity in the Greater Male' Area, increased the total production capacity materially and form part of the broader “water security” programme for Male’ and Hulhumalé.
Last but not least, the extra storage is critical: it smooths supply during RO plant servicing and peak demand periods.
