A special function honoured by His Excellency, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, was held to inaugurate the new water and sewerage services in N.Maafaru.
MWSC
On 22 July 2025, the Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) announced the successful completion of the water and sewage project in the island of Noonu Maafaru. The project was carried out under a contract with the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, in which MWSC designed and constructed a state-of-the-art water supply and sewerage system on the island.
A special function honoured by His Excellency, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, was held to inaugurate the new water and sewerage services in N.Maafaru. The event was attended by MWSC’s Managing Director, Abdul Matheen Mohamed, state ministers, and the residents of N. Maafaru.
The project was completed with a total investment of MVR94.41 million, which ultimately ensures a safe and secure wastewater system which will greatly contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the residents of Maafaru.
In addition to the completion of the Noonu Maafaru water and sewerage project, the company also announced that the materials required for the construction of an RO building has been delivered to the project site at Noonu Landhoo on the same day.
