The Male' Water and Sewerage Company Pvt. Ltd. (MWSC) announced the upgrades for the Addu City Water Supply System Upgrade project on 16 April 2026.
According to the company, 26 percent of the overall project has been completed. Additionally, MWSC also noted that currently in S. hithadhoo, construction of the RO plant facility building and pumping station, borehole, installation of pumps and electrical systems, and fabrication of the RO plant works are in progress.
The project, led by MWSC, is part of broader efforts to enhance water security and service reliability in Addu City. Once completed, the upgraded system is expected to improve potable water production capacity and distribution efficiency for residents across the city.
