On 26 October 2025, an agreement has been signed with China's TY Lin International company for the consultancy work for the bridge which is set to connect Hithadhoo, Hulhudhoo, and Meedhoo.
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Construction, Housing & Infrastructure, Dr. Abdulla Muththalib on behalf of the Government, and the President of the TY Lin International, Mr. Chen Zixiu on behalf of the company.
According to the Ministry, the consultance services under the agreement include conducting surveys, designing development, and preparing the technical specifications and tender documents.
