On 8th April, 2025 the Ministry of Infrastruture signed an agreement with the Road Development Corporation (RDC) that will see the design and building of the Addu Link Road, roads connected to it along with establishing a draine system in the area.

The Addu Link Road, originally built 22 years ago during the presidency of Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, is now set for major redevelopment. With time and growing development needs, the Ministry of Infrastructure has announced that MVR 829.8 million has been allocated for the project. RDC will undertake the work on a design-and-build basis, with plans to complete it within three years and nine months. The project will include modernising the link road, tarring or paving 67.58 km of CTB roads, establishing drainage systems in Feydhoo, developing the pavements, as well as installing road indications and signboards for road safety.

The agreement was signed during a ceremony hosted at the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure by Dr. Abdullah Muttalib on behalf of the Government, and Ali Zuhair, Managing Director of RDC, signed on behalf of the company.
