According to the President's Office, the Aarogya Maitri Health Cube is the world’s first cube-based portable hospital system, equipped with an ICU, operating theatre, laboratory testing equipment, X-ray machine, power generator, and other essential emergency medical facilities. Each unit can function independently for up to 72 hours and treat up to 200 individuals in disaster or crisis situations.

The two units will be operated by the Maldives Emergency Medical Service under the Ministry of Health, significantly strengthening the country’s capacity to respond effectively to major incidents and emergencies.
