On 29 April 2026, the Maldives Meteorology Office announced that the Climate Service User Forum is currently underway in Malé, held alongside the South Asian Climate Outlook Forum (SASCOF 34). The event brings together climate scientists, policymakers, and sectoral stakeholders to strengthen the link between climate information and practical decision-making.

The forum was officially inaugurated by the Honourable Minister of Climate Change, Environment and Energy, who emphasized the importance of translating seasonal climate forecasts into actionable strategies. Discussions are focused on improving the usability of climate services across key sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, water management, and disaster preparedness.

Organized with the involvement of the Maldives Meteorological Service, the forum highlights the growing need to bridge scientific insights with real-world applications, ensuring that communities and industries can better anticipate and respond to climate variability.
