BML upgrades the special needs centre in K. Guraidhoo

The Special Needs Centre in K. Guraidhoo recently underwent a significant renovation and upgrade, thanks to the generous support and assistance provided by the Bank of Maldives (BML).
In a bid to enhance the facilities and services offered by the centre, BML stepped in to lend a helping hand as part of their commitment to community development. One of the notable improvements included the establishment of an upgraded industrial kitchen, equipped with modern amenities and appliances. This addition not only facilitates the preparation of nutritious meals but also ensures efficient food storage with the provision of built-in space.
Furthermore, BML extended their support by donating essential equipment and furnishings to the center. This included lockers for storage, upgraded toilet facilities, and the creation of a designated tea room, providing both staff and patients with a comfortable and conducive space for relaxation and refreshment.
Recognizing the importance of promoting learning and recreational activities, the project also saw the development of a library corner within the centre. This dedicated space serves as a valuable resource for both staff and patients, offering access to a range of reading materials and educational resources.
Additionally, BML's contribution extended to providing essential furniture such as beds, mattresses, sofas, and chairs, enhancing the overall comfort and functionality of the center for its beneficiaries.
The initiative to upgrade the Special Needs Centre in K. Guraidhoo was launched by BML as part of their 40th-anniversary celebrations, reflecting their longstanding commitment to supporting initiatives that positively impact communities across the Maldives.
Through this collaborative effort, the Special Needs Centre has been transformed into a more inclusive and accessible facility, equipped to better cater to the needs of individuals with special requirements. The partnership between BML and the center stands as a testament to the power of corporate social responsibility in driving positive change and improving the lives of vulnerable populations.
