Presidential debate among candidates scheduled for 01st September

State-run Public Service Media (PSM) has announced that a highly anticipated Presidential debate featuring all contenders in the upcoming election will be held on September 1.

In a significant development leading up to the Maldives' presidential election, Public Service Media (PSM) has revealed plans to host a Presidential Debate on September 1. The state-run media organization made the announcement through an official statement, confirming the debate's schedule and providing key details about the event.

Scheduled to take place from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., the debate is set to be a crucial platform for the presidential candidates to present their perspectives, policies, and visions to the public. All candidates, a total of eight, who are contending in the forthcoming presidential election, have been formally invited to participate in the debate. PSM reported that each candidate expressed their keen interest in taking part in the event, emphasizing its significance in the lead-up to the election day.

The debate, organized in collaboration with the Maldives National University (MNU), will focus on addressing questions related to the candidates' respective visions and manifestos. This format is expected to provide voters with an opportunity to understand the candidates' positions on key issues, enabling them to make informed decisions come election day, which is scheduled for September 9.
