Dr. Mohamed Jameel, a prominent advocate and one of the lead lawyers working on Yameen’s ongoing trial addressed the local media during this gathering, asserting that the election's outcome was a testament to the people's hard work and that it highlighted the political nature of Yameen's sentencing under the current administration, led by the Maldives Democratic Party (MDP).
Furthermore, Dr Mohamed Jameel urged the Prosecutor General's Office to release Yameen unconditionally within the next 24 hours.
