Bank of Maldives marks 10 years of Islamic Banking
In alignment with the Bank’s strategy, three of its branches in Eydhafushi, Mahibadhoo, and Gan are now rebranded as BML Islamic branches, focusing on “Islamic Finance First” policy in providing banking services.
On January 22, 2025, the Bank of Maldives (BML) celebrated a significant milestone as it marked the 10th anniversary of its Islamic banking services today. Since its inception, BML Islamic has remained committed to providing banking solutions that are Shari’ah compliant with complete segregation of funds, following international best practices in Islamic banking.
In alignment with the Bank’s strategy, three of its branches in Eydhafushi, Mahibadhoo, and Gan are now rebranded as BML Islamic branches, focusing on “Islamic Finance First” policy in providing banking services.
Celebrating 10 years of BML Islamic is a proud moment for Bank of Maldives. As the largest Islamic bank in the Maldives, we offer a comprehensive suite of products including accounts, cards and financing. BML Islamic was the first to introduce Islamic overdraft financing, cash financing, hybrid home financing, Islamic debit card and is the only bank providing Shari’ah-compliant credit cards in the Maldives.
