Moolee by Ooredoo Maldives celebrates 3 years of service

As they celebrate their three years of successful service, Moolee has helped connect over 50 well-known brands to their customers within 18 categories and made over 20,000 in the Maldives

After Ooredoo Maldives recently celebrated 17 years of service on the 1st of August 2022, their e-commerce platform ‘Moolee’ has also celebrated their 3-year anniversary on the 7th of August 2022.

Moolee is a platform that was created by Ooredoo on the 7th of August 2019 in order to help connect customers to online platforms and make purchasing online more accessible and more manageable. As they celebrate their three years of successful service, Moolee has helped connect over 50 well-known brands to their customers within 18 categories and made over 20,000 in the Maldives.

Moolee provides a diverse selection of products ranging from electronics to food. In addition to providing free shipping all over the Maldives, Moolee also does different kinds of promotions throughout the year.

This platform ran one of the most notable promotions two years ago. While the country was dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Moolee launched a gift-giving service in honour of Eid al-Fitr. This initiative was well received by Maldivians because it was based on the Maldivian custom of gift giving. While Moolee is available for Ooredoo customers, during this gift-giving initiative the Moolee section of the app was also available for Dhiraagu customers in an effort to include everyone in the Eid celebration.

Moolee is also well-known in the Maldives for working with small brands. As online businesses and local brands began to take off following the pandemic, support from platforms like Moolee and large brands like Ooredoo provided a platform for smaller brands to grow. Furthermore, by collaborating with small brands, Moolee is assisting smaller brands in connecting with customers who are typically difficult to reach due to the Maldivian islands' remoteness.
