MMA opens up for applicants to participate in the GMW quiz competition

The quiz competition will feature six online rounds on a quiz platform, and only the top five highest-scoring teams will compete in the sixth round for the leaderboard position.

The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has opened up applications to participate in the Global Money Week Quiz Competition.

According to MMA, the league-style quiz has been designed to promote financial literacy through an interactive and competitive format. Participants will develop their knowledge of key financial concepts and learn to apply the information in practical contexts.

The quiz competition will feature six online rounds on a quiz platform, and only the top five highest-scoring teams will compete in the sixth round for the leaderboard position. The questions will be in a multiple-choice format with scenario-based question format, with the following themes:

  • Smart money choices- earning, spending, & saving
  • Digital finance & financial scams
  • Money basics: understanding value, interest & inflation

The competition has now been opened up for Maldivian youth aged between 16-18 years. Additional eligibility criterias are as follows:

  • Open to the public
  • Teams of 3-5 members (including the leader)
  • Teams must be registered, including all the members
  • Each team must have a team name and one team leader

The rewards for the winners include MVR10,000 for first place, MVR7,000 for second place, and MVR5,000 for third place winners.

In order to participate in the competition, applicants must submit the completed Application Form as required. All applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm Maldivian time (GMT+5) on 26 February 2026.
