The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has announced the Global Money Week Art Competition.
MMA noted that through such projects, participants deepen their understanding of money-related themes while producing thought-provoking works that inspire their peers to engage in conversations about smart financial decisions.
With this, this art competition invites young people to participate in Global Money Week by translating the themes into an artistic creation.
Themes for the art competition
• My Money Design: your demonstration of the perfect Maldivian money
• History of Money: evolution of what Maldivians used as money
• Financial Empowerment: how access to finance can empower island communities
In addition to the themes, MMA also announced the eligibility criteria for the competition, which are as follows:
• Category 1: grades 1 - 3
• Category 2: grades 4 - 6
• Category 3: grades 7 - 8
• Category 4: grades 9 - 10
The submissions will be evaluated based on four different criteria, which include: creativity and originality, impact and artist’s statementImpact and message, relevance to the theme, and visual appeal.
Winnders of the competition are categories into three, with benefits including:
• 1st Place: MVR 3,000/- and certificate
• 2nd Place: MVR 2,000/- and certificate
• 3rd Place: MVR 1,000/- and certificate
MMA also noted that selected artwork may be published or featured in national campaigns, digital platforms, or financial literacy materials with full credit to the authors.
