BML to open a new branch in Thaa Vilufushi

On 24 September 2025, the Bank of Maldives (BML) held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new branch in Thaa Vilufushi, marking a significant step in expanding its services across the atoll. The new branch will bring convenient access to banking services for individuals, businesses, and the wider community of Vilufushi and neighbouring islands. 

The ceremony was attended by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, Ministers, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef and senior officials of the Bank. 

During the ceremony, the Bank also opened a new Self-Service Banking ATM in Vilufushi as part of the ongoing “Mulhi Raajje ah BML ATM” project. 

We are delighted to announce the new branch for Vilufushi, as part of BML’s strategy to strengthen our nationwide presence and enhance financial inclusion across the atolls. Through the branch, we are excited to bring our full suite of banking services even closer to the community here.
