BML opens its 40th branch in Raa Dhuvaafaru

Bank of Maldives has expanded its services in Raa Atoll with the opening of its new BML Islamic branch at Dhuvaafaru. The branch was inaugurated by Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, Dr Abdulla Muththalib at an event held on the island today, in attendance of the Bank’s Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb as well as Deputy CEO & COO Sahar Waheed.

The new branch at Dhuvaafaru will offer a full range of Islamic banking services focusing on “Islamic Finance First” policy in providing banking services.

This strategic expansion reinforces the Bank’s position as the Maldives' leading financial institution, with an extensive network comprising 40 branches across all 20 atolls, 133 Self Service Banking Centres, 188 ATMs, comprehensive Agent Banking Services, and advanced Digital Banking solutions. Alongside its growing network of physical access points, the Bank continues to invest in digital channels and partner services to meet the evolving needs of its customers.

The Bank’s first branch was opened in Male’ in 1982. With focus on financial inclusion, the country’s national bank continues to expand its services to ensure banking services are available on each island. The branch in Dhuvaafaru is the Bank’s 40th branch.
