In line with celebrating the Maldives' Fishermen's Day, which is celebrated on 10 December of each year, the Bank of Maldives (BML) has introduced the ‘Masveriyaa Portal’. These digital platforms, especially catering to local fishermen, were introduced by the bank to provide financing services to fishermen. According to the announcement by BML, eligible fishermen who are registered with the National Fishermen’s Registry can now seamlessly apply for Islamic financing products through the user-friendly platform, Masveriyaa Portal. The portal was officially inaugurated by Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen at a special ceremony in Dhuvaafaru commemorating Fishermen's Day.
